Research overview
Semaglutide is based on native GLP-1(7-37) with three main changes. An Aib residue at position 8 protects it from breakdown by DPP-4, lysine 34 is replaced with arginine, and a C18 fatty diacid chain on lysine 26 lets it bind albumin. Together these extend its half-life to around one week. Research models use it to study GLP-1 receptor signalling, glucose-dependent insulin secretion, gastric emptying and appetite regulation.

Laboratory research use only
This product is supplied strictly for laboratory research use. It is not a medicine, food, cosmetic, or dietary supplement, and is not for human or animal consumption. Any use outside a documented laboratory research protocol is prohibited.
Handling
For laboratory use, reconstitute with a sterile diluent appropriate to the research protocol, introducing the diluent slowly against the vial wall to minimise peptide degradation. Do not shake.
